Teeth that is! I snapped this funny picture of Dax after waking up from a nap today. He was so happy and seemed oblivious to the awesome roosters he is sporting. Must have been a great nap!

A week of firsts

It has been an eventful week at the Jones Home. Zach was out of town all week at a conference in Portland, so of course this is when things would get crazy at home. On Tuesday Dax's first tooth broke through while he was at daycare. Later that night when we were home he was playing around the coffee table and pulled himself up and then proceeded to fall and smack his forehead and cheek on the leg of the table, just as I was reaching to catch him. I guess that it was only a matter of time before he fell and got his first bruises, but I didn't expect him to get the first and second ones at the same time. All in all it wasn't a bad week without Zach and I guess it could have been a lot worse, but we are really glad to have him home!

I couldn't get a picture of the newly emerging tooth, but here is a nice one of the bruises-5 days after the fall and they still don't look too great! Luckily the one on his forehead is almost gone!

Farewell Sister Brown

Just last week our favorite sister, Sister Brown from Wales left to head back to SLC to finish up her mission on Temple Square. We will all surely miss her!

Yes, this is a bath toy. It has recently become Dax's favorite little toy and his face lights up everytime he sees it. We are just hoping this doesn't become the toy he wants to sleep with.

Fun at the Park

A few weeks ago, Zach and I decided to take Dax to this great park just a block from our house. Dax had a lot of fun going down the slides and swinging in the swings. He just loves being outside and likes to look at the trees. It has been such a beautiful fall that I can't blame him though. The other day when I picked him up from daycare, one of the ladies said she had been sitting with him by the window so he could see out. She said if she put him down he would start to cry, but once she picked him up and he could see out the window he was fine. Funny thing because when he seems to be having a melt down, Zach always takes him for a walk "to look at the trees" and that seems to calm him down. Here is a picture I snapped right before they headed out to take the terriers for a walk. Dax now has to ride in the back because he is getting too heavy (18 lbs). We can't wait for his new backpack to get here!

Beautiful Fall Weather!

We were lucky enough to enjoy some beautiful fall weather today! This doesn't happen in Juneau very often (fall=lots of rain), so we decided to get out and enjoy it while we could. We are supposed to have the seasons first frost tonight and you could definitely smell the crispness in the air. I just LOVE this time of year!
